On to Points!
11.15.2011 | by: Gullo
Sorry for the short post, but still overseas...

Wes/James and Tolli finally picked a loser and are 6 feet under. Philly lost this week to the Cards in a 4th quarter come back led by QB John Skelton that took down the last men standing. With their losses, it's a race to get the most points by the end of the season. Last year's co-champion, Paul Johnson, now finds himself in a 3-way tie for points. Several other players are just 1 loss away, waiting for any of the top 3 to make a mistake. The final 7 weeks could get pretty interesting!

Bloody Sunday

10.
That was the number of points the Giants were favored by over the Seahawks.

14.
That is the number of players in Let it Ride that selected the Giants to win in Week 5.

28.
That is the total number of points lost due to the Seahawks beating the Giants in NY.

2.
That is the number of teams left, fighting for the 70% pot (Tolli don't count, he's play for fuuuun).

It was a week for the record books in Let it Ride. Never has a week seen so many deaths attributed to one team, especially 5 weeks into the season. What started out looking like a long suicide season, suddenly has a chance to be one of the shortest.

Only 2 teams are still alive after Week 5 (3 if you really count Tolli). Mike Gullo survived the bloodbath by selecting San Diego over Denver, a game that almost went the other way with a late come back by Tim Tebow. The other team still alive is a combination of 2 men, Wes Pickreign and James Stronach. Jamesly survived the week with their pick of NE over the Jets. Another close game that almost cost them.

The upcoming weeks should be interesting. Will Gullo finally win some money from the Suicide league he's been running for 5 years? Will the combination of 2 brains be greater than 1? Stay tuned.

And as a reminder to all those guys who got buried on Sunday, remember the suicide season isn't over until the end of Week 17. 30% of the pot is still up for grabs! Good luck!

The First Four

A new season for Let It Ride, and like the previous four years, the fifth year again proves that Week 1 will kill off a good amount of contestants.

Compared to previous years, the 2011 season wasn't quite the massacre it's been in the past. With 19 teams competing for cash (if you're not, let me know), only losing 4 isn't too bad. Of the four that are now 6 feet under, 3 of those we're killed off with Cleveland losing to the Bengals. Among the dead was last year's co-champion Bryan Carlon.

Things were nearly a lot worse when Carolina tried for a last minute come back. Luckily for the three that picked Arizona, that didn't happen. It should be interesting to see how Cam Newton progresses throughout the season. Picking Carolina's opponent to win will not be as safe of a pick as it was in 2010.

Just like last year, remember to continue picking each week even after you are dead. At the end of Week 17, the team with the most points still receives 30% of the pot.

Good luck in Week 2!
